The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts a steady decline in temperatures across the UAE starting next week, with daytime highs expected to hover between 25°C and 31°C. This transition follows a period of lingering humidity and marks the definitive start of the autumn cooling phase across the emirates. Shifting atmospheric conditions Internal and coastal regions will experience the most visible drop in mercury. While daytime temperatures will remain moderate, evening and early morning conditions are projected to fall below 20°C in mountainous areas and deeper desert regions. The NCM indicates that northwesterly winds, known locally as Shamal winds, will periodically freshen, causing blowing dust and a slight reduction in horizontal visibility on open roads. Humidity levels remain a factor for commuters. Relative humidity is expected to peak during the late night and early morning hours, particularly over coastal areas such as Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi. This increase in moisture, combined with cooling air, raised the probability of fog or mist formation, which may impact morning traffic on major highways like the E11 and E311.
