The NCM forecasts rain and 50km/h winds across the UAE on Wednesday, with humidity levels set to trigger fog alerts through the weekend.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a weather warning for Wednesday, 21 October, as convective clouds bring rainfall and winds of up to 50km/h across the UAE. The unsettled conditions are driven by an extension of a surface low-pressure system interacting with an upper-air low-pressure system. Rainfall and dust warnings Rain is expected to develop over eastern regions on Wednesday afternoon before extending into inland and western areas. The NCM stated that while winds will generally remain light to moderate between 10–25km/h, they will accelerate to 50km/h during cloud formation, particularly in mountainous and inland zones. These gusts are forecast to cause blowing dust, which may significantly reduce horizontal visibility for motorists. Temperatures remain high despite the cloud cover, with inland areas reaching peaks of 41°C. Coastal regions and islands will see highs between 34°C and 38°C, while mountainous areas will remain cooler, ranging from 26°C to 32°C. Extended outlook and fog risk The NCM forecast indicates that rainfall chances will persist through Thursday, 22 October, as clouds continue to develop over eastern and western parts of the country. Humidity levels are expected to climb to 90 per cent overnight, creating a high probability of mist and fog formation on Friday morning along coastal and inland roads. A gradual decline in temperatures is scheduled to begin on Saturday, accompanied by rougher sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf.…
