The UAE Cabinet approved a unified federal framework for licensing higher education institutions on Thursday, 16 July, to standardise academic quality across the country. The new system integrates licensing procedures for all public and private universities under a single regulatory standard managed by the Ministry of Education. The decision eliminates varying regulatory requirements between different emirates and free zones, creating a single national benchmark for academic accreditation.
