The Pakistan Embassy and Consulate invite residents to official flag-hoisting ceremonies in Abu Dhabi and Dubai on Friday, 14 August.

The Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai have invited community members to attend official flag-hoisting ceremonies on Friday, 14 August, to mark Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day. The diplomatic missions confirmed that the events will take place at their respective premises in the UAE capital and Bur Dubai. Official Ceremonies in Abu Dhabi and Dubai The main ceremony at the Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi is scheduled to begin at 8:00 AM on Friday, 14 August. Concurrently, the Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai will host its own flag-hoisting event for residents living in the Northern Emirates. Diplomatic officials will read out messages from Pakistan’s President and Prime Minister during the proceedings, which traditionally include the singing of the national anthem and special prayers for the country's progress. The invitation comes as the Pakistani diaspora in the UAE, which exceeds 1.7 million people, prepares for nationwide celebrations. This community remains one of the largest expatriate groups in the country, contributing significantly to the local economy through various sectors and high remittance volumes. Attendance and Security Measures Last year, the scale of celebrations reached record levels when more than 60,000 people registered for Independence Day events held in Dubai.
