New UAE federal guide shifts administrative burden from citizens to AI agents

The UAE National Committee for the Agentic AI Project launched a unified design guide on Friday, 21 August, to overhaul federal government services using artificial intelligence assistants. The new framework aims to eliminate manual procedural navigation for residents by shifting the burden of administrative execution from the customer to government-led AI systems. Automating Citizen Interactions The Assistant AI Government Experience Design Guide provides federal entities with a standardized approach to redesigning service delivery. Under the new model, AI assistants are programmed to understand customer intent through natural language conversation, identify the necessary government departments, and execute transactions on the user’s behalf. This replaces the traditional process where customers had to identify responsible authorities and submit documents across multiple platforms. Mohammed Rashid bin Taliah, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Government Knowledge Exchange, confirmed that the government's objective is to measure success by outcomes rather than the number of user interactions. He stated that a fully functioning assistant will use existing government data to plan and execute tasks, handling cross-entity coordination and exceptional cases automatically.
