Dubai Municipality opened a 102-metre bridge at Mushrif National Park on Sunday, 23 August, creating a continuous route for outdoor enthusiasts that eliminates road crossings for trail users. The project connects two primary sections of the park’s trail network, according to a statement from the Dubai Media Office. The new structure features two dedicated lanes: one specifically designed for mountain bikers and a separate path for hikers. By bridging previously disconnected segments, the facility allows cyclists to maintain momentum without navigating vehicular traffic, addressing safety concerns in the emirate’s largest forest area. Infrastructure for Active Lifestyles Bader Anwahi, CEO of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, stated that the bridge serves as a functional link that removes the need for trail users to stop and cross roads used by vehicles. The project is part of a broader infrastructure expansion within Mushrif National Park aimed at supporting the increasing volume of mountain bikers and hikers in the emirate. The park already hosts an extensive network of trails, and this addition is intended to streamline movement across the natural terrain.
