IMMAF cites UAE leadership in MMA as Youth World Championships open in Abu Dhabi

The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation highlights the UAE's role in sport development as the 7th Youth World Championships begin in Abu Dhabi.
The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) announced on Tuesday, 18 August, that the UAE has established itself as a global leader in the development of mixed martial arts (MMA) through sustained infrastructure investment and high-level competition hosting. Global Youth Championships commence Wissam Abi Nader, Vice President of the IMMAF, told the Emirates News Agency (WAM) that the UAE’s organizational standards have reached a professional peak. Speaking at the opening of the seventh IMMAF Youth World Championships, currently held at the Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi, Abi Nader highlighted the significant rise in the number of participating countries and athletes. The tournament, which runs until Sunday, 23 August, continues to set records for international participation. According to the IMMAF, the scale of this year's edition reflects the growing status of Abu Dhabi as a preferred destination for combat sports due to its logistical capabilities and high-quality production standards. Strategic federation cooperation The success of the current event is driven by long-term cooperation between the International Federation and the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation.
