Dubai Aviation City Corporation (DACC) has awarded the contract to build a 50-kilometre automated people mover (APM) at Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) to a consortium led by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI). The system is scheduled for completion in December 2031, ahead of the airport’s planned operational launch in 2032. The consortium includes MHI Mobility Engineering Services and the Indian engineering firm Larsen & Toubro (L&T). MHI will oversee the design and integration of 165 automated vehicles and signalling systems, while L&T will manage on-site construction and subsystem procurement.
