UAE-based Blue Rhine Industries (BRI) has secured the subcontract to install and commission the Exosphere, the giant programmable LED exterior of the $1.7 billion Sphere Abu Dhabi. The company confirmed on Monday, 19 October, that ALEC Engineering and Contracting selected the specialist firm to deliver the venue’s most visible technological feature. The Exosphere will wrap around the 112-metre-high building, transforming its outer surface into a digital canvas for art and visual storytelling. BRI, which has operated for 20 years, stated that the audiovisual integration project represents the largest scope of work in its history. The installation follows the main construction award granted to ALEC earlier this year by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi).
