Abu Dhabi will activate two new Darb toll gates on Monday, May 19, located on the Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street bridge and the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Street bridge. The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport confirmed the move to regulate traffic flow and reduce congestion on major arterial routes connecting the mainland to Abu Dhabi island. Operational Hours and Peak Charges The new gates follow the standard Darb tolling schedule. Charges are applied only during morning and evening peak hours, from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Saturday. Each crossing during these windows incurs a fee of AED 4. Tolls are not collected on Sundays or during public holidays. Vehicle owners must ensure their accounts are registered and sufficiently funded via the official Darb website or the "Darb" mobile application. Failure to maintain a balance or pass through without a registered account within the grace period results in fines. Maximum daily caps per vehicle remain at AED 16 for individual users.
