Water and food safety dominate ADQCC quality inspections as 17 product lines withdrawn

The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (ADQCC) conducted 205,520 specialised laboratory tests and inspected 33,173 products during the second quarter of 2026, according to data released on Tuesday, 1 September. The figures represent a comprehensive effort to regulate market standards and ensure consumer safety across the emirate. Water and Food Safety Testing Data from the Central Testing Laboratory Sector showed that water testing accounted for the largest share of activity with 162,511 tests. The council also performed 35,994 tests on food and liquids, 3,754 environmental tests, and 1,953 tests on building and construction materials. Other specialised evaluations included 473 tests on transformer oils and 176 tests on cosmetics. Surveillance teams identified 41 products in the UAE market that were subject to international recalls. During the three-month period ending in June, inspectors withdrew 17 product lines, totaling 37 individual items, from circulation.
