The US State Department clears over $8.6 billion in military sales including precision missiles for the UAE and a major infrastructure expansion for Qatar.
The United States State Department has approved a series of major foreign military sales to Middle Eastern allies totaling more than $8.6 billion. The deals involve the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, and Israel, covering advanced munitions, aircraft sustainment, and logistical support infrastructure. UAE Acquires Advanced Munition Systems The UAE has been cleared to purchase an estimated $1.2 billion in military hardware. The package includes 259 GMLRS Unitary Alternative Warhead Rocket Pods and 203 Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS). These systems focus on long-range precision strike capabilities. Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is named as the principal contractor for the UAE agreement. Regional Defense Logistics and Support Qatar received the largest single approval in this round, with a potential $6.21 billion deal for the design and construction of the Al-Udeid Air Base Commercial Zones and associated facilities. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will oversee the construction projects.
