UAE Temperatures to Hit 48°C as Heatwave Intensifies This Week

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has forecast a significant rise in temperatures across the UAE this week, with mercury levels expected to peak at 48°C in internal regions. The heatwave follows a steady increase in thermal intensity as the country enters one of the hottest periods of the summer season. Rising Internal Temperatures The NCM confirmed that while coastal areas such as Dubai and Abu Dhabi will see temperatures ranging between 41°C and 45°C, the most extreme heat will be concentrated in the desert and internal plains. Overnight lows are expected to remain high, hovering between 30°C and 34°C, providing little relief from the daytime heat. Humidity levels are projected to surge during the late night and early morning hours, particularly along the coast. Forecasters expect humidity to reach up to 90% in some areas, potentially leading to the formation of mist or light fog, which could reduce horizontal visibility on major highways including the E11 and E311. Wind Conditions and Dust Light to moderate winds, occasionally freshening, are expected to stir up dust and sand in open areas.
