UAE temperatures to hit 45°C as humidity triggers fog warnings

Temperatures in the UAE are forecast to hit 45°C on Sunday, 27 September, as the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) warns of rising humidity levels that could trigger widespread fog and mist across the country. Peak temperatures in Al Sila and Liwa According to the NCM, the highest temperature will be recorded in Al Sila at 45°C, with Liwa reaching 43°C and Al Ain hitting 42°C. Coastal cities will see slightly lower peaks, with Abu Dhabi forecast at 40°C and Dubai at 37°C. Despite the official start of the autumn equinox, the NCM confirmed that very warm conditions will persist across the national outlook for the coming days. Humidity levels are expected to climb to 90 per cent in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, and Ras Al Khaimah. This spike in moisture, combined with cooling overnight temperatures, creates a high probability of fog or mist over coastal and inland areas on Sunday night and early Monday, 28 September. Convective clouds and wind speeds The weather on Sunday will remain fair to partly cloudy. However, the NCM noted that clouds will develop over eastern areas and may become convective during the afternoon. Winds are expected to be light to moderate, blowing from the southeast to northeast at speeds between 10 to 20km/h, occasionally gusting to 30km/h.
