The UAE has entered its peak summer period, with temperatures across the country climbing above 43°C as July registers as the hottest month of the year. According to data from the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), the average maximum temperature for this period typically ranges between 42°C and 45°C, with mercury levels frequently spiking higher in internal desert regions. Atmospheric Conditions and Humidity The NCM reports that July weather is characterized by the extension of the Indian Monsoon Depression, which directs hot air masses toward the Arabian Peninsula. This atmospheric shift often facilitates "Al Kous" winds—moist southeasterly winds that significantly increase humidity levels along the coast. While internal areas experience dry heat, coastal cities including Abu Dhabi and Dubai face humidity levels exceeding 80% during nighttime and early morning hours. Despite the extreme heat, the eastern mountainous regions may experience convective cloud formations, leading to localized rainfall.
