UAE Targets 50% Agentic AI Integration to Automate Government Operations

The UAE government aims to automate half of its administrative tasks using autonomous AI agents to increase public sector efficiency.

The UAE government has established a target to integrate agentic Artificial Intelligence (AI) into 50% of its administrative operations. This shift marks a transition from generative AI, which primarily produces content, to agentic systems capable of executing complex tasks and making independent decisions without constant human intervention. Shift Toward Autonomous Systems Unlike standard AI models that respond to prompts, agentic AI operates as an autonomous "agent." These systems can plan workflows, interact with other software, and complete multi-step processes such as processing visa applications, managing procurement, or optimizing energy grids. The UAE’s AI Office, led by Omar Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, is spearheading the deployment across federal entities.
