UAE Schools to Start Summer Break July 1 as Academic Year Ends June 28

UAE schools will end the current academic year on June 28, with the 2024-2025 term scheduled to begin on August 26.

The UAE Ministry of Education (MoE) has confirmed that the 2023-2024 academic year for all public and private schools following the ministry’s curriculum will conclude on June 28, 2024. Summer holidays are scheduled to officially begin on July 1, providing students with a break of approximately eight weeks before the new term commences. Return to classrooms in August According to the approved academic calendar, teachers and administrative staff are required to return to schools on August 19, 2024, to prepare for the upcoming year. Students will resume classes for the 2024-2025 academic year on Monday, August 26. This schedule ensures the mandatory minimum of 182 instructional days for the school year is met. For schools following international curricula, such as British, American, or IB, the last day of school may vary slightly but must comply with the framework set by local regulators, including the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) in Dubai and the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK).
