Travelers across the Arabian Gulf faced revised flight schedules on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, as several flights between the UAE and Saudi Arabia were suspended following a security incident at Saudi Arabia's Abha International Airport. National carriers flydubai and Air Arabia proactively adjusted their operations, placing passenger safety at the absolute forefront of their scheduling. A check of flydubai’s system showed that both scheduled flights from Dubai International Airport's (DXB) Terminal 2 to Abha—FZ 815, originally set to depart at 10:25 AM, and FZ 811, scheduled for 4:05 PM—were cancelled. Sharjah-based Air Arabia also cancelled its return service G9 195, which was set to depart Abha at 2:25 PM. The cancellations rippled across the regional aviation landscape. On the domestic front, Saudi national carrier Saudia suspended three key departures to Riyadh and two services to Jeddah. Low-cost carrier flynas also removed its morning flight to Jeddah, signaling a coordinated industry-wide pause to assess safety conditions in southwestern Saudi Arabia.
