UAE residents are preparing for the next major public holiday as the 2024 academic and fiscal calendar progresses toward the middle of the year. Following the Eid Al Fitr break in April, the next confirmed holiday period will center around Arafat Day and Eid Al Adha, expected to fall in mid-June. June Holiday Dates and Expectations The UAE Cabinet, which oversees the official holiday calendar for both public and private sectors, has designated Arafat Day on Dhu Al Hijjah 9 and Eid Al Adha from Dhu Al Hijjah 10 to 12. According to astronomical calculations by the Emirates Astronomy Society, Arafat Day is likely to occur on Sunday, June 16. This would mean Eid Al Adha will begin on Monday, June 17, and run through Wednesday, June 19. For employees working a standard Monday-to-Friday week, this alignment could result in a five-day break, including the preceding weekend of June 15.
