UAE President invites Saudi King to 2026 UN Water Conference in Abu Dhabi

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has issued an official invitation to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia to attend the 2026 UN Water Conference. The high-level global summit will be hosted in Abu Dhabi from 8 to 10 December 2026, organized in partnership between the UAE and the Republic of Senegal. Diplomatic Handover in Riyadh The written message was delivered on Tuesday, 25 August, by Matar Salem Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. The handover took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Riyadh, where it was received by Waleed Al-Khereiji, the Saudi Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. The invitation formally requests the participation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in the upcoming international gathering focused on water security and sustainable management.
