The ministry urged individuals to verify the licensing status of all financial platforms before transferring funds or digital assets. In an official statement published on X, the ministry identified several red flags associated with these scams, including promises of guaranteed profits and high returns with little risk. The alert specifically warned against platforms that pressure users into making urgent transfers of money or cryptocurrency. Identifying fraudulent platforms Legal investment platforms operating within the UAE are required to hold specific licenses from regulators such as the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) or the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA). The ministry noted that legitimate entities do not use high-pressure tactics or solicit immediate payments through unofficial channels. This latest advisory follows a series of recent warnings from UAE regulators. The Capital Market Authority recently flagged unlicensed companies, while Dubai regulators identified a new scam involving artificial intelligence that promises fictitious boxes of cash and gold.
