Medical students and healthcare professionals in the UAE report a significant gap between their support for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and their technical understanding of the technology, according to a cross-sectional study published in the journal Cureus. While a majority of respondents view AI as a beneficial tool for the future of healthcare, many feel unprepared to implement it in clinical practice. Survey Identifies Critical Knowledge Gaps The study surveyed 426 participants, including medical students, interns, and residents across various UAE institutions. The data reveals that 51.2% of respondents rated their knowledge of AI in medicine as "poor," with only 6.3% describing their understanding as "excellent." Despite these self-reported deficiencies, 65% of the cohort expressed a positive attitude toward the integration of AI in the healthcare sector.
