UAE Launches ‘Naseej’ Initiative to Transform Textile Sector Circularity

The UAE has launched ‘Naseej’, a national initiative directed by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to transition the country’s textile sector into a circular economy. The program seeks to integrate sustainable production methods across the entire textile value chain, focusing on resource efficiency and waste reduction. The initiative establishes a regulatory framework to manage textile waste, which currently represents a significant portion of industrial byproduct. By implementing circularity, the UAE aims to reduce the environmental footprint of the sector while increasing the domestic manufacturing of sustainable materials.
