The UAE has launched ‘Naseej’, a national initiative directed by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to transition the domestic textile industry into a circular economy model. The program establishes the textile sector as a central priority for the country’s industrial sustainability strategy. Integration of Sustainable Manufacturing The Naseej initiative focuses on the entire lifecycle of textile products, from initial manufacturing processes to consumer habits and end-of-life waste management. By implementing circular economy principles, the UAE aims to reduce the volume of textile waste sent to landfills and promote the reuse of materials within the industrial supply chain. The program involves coordination between government regulators and private sector manufacturers to standardize the use of recycled fibers and sustainable production technologies.
