UAE Indian expats aged 21-25 can win spots at 2027 Kolkata global summit

Indian missions in the UAE will select five winners to attend the 2027 diaspora summit in Kolkata, West Bengal.

The Indian Consulate in Dubai has invited Indian expatriates in the UAE to apply for the Youth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (YPBD) 2027, scheduled to take place in Kolkata, West Bengal, from January 7 to 9, 2027. Five winners from the UAE will be selected to attend the global gathering, with travel coordinated by the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General. Application criteria and deadlines The competition is open to Indian diaspora members residing in the UAE aged between 21 and 25. The mission confirmed that Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs), and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) are all eligible to apply. Applicants must submit a 500-word essay addressing the theme: "Youth as Catalysts for a Stronger India–UAE Partnership". Submissions must be emailed to [email protected] no later than Monday, 5 October 2026. The application must include the candidate’s photograph and a professional CV. The Consulate stated that only one registration per person is permitted and its selection decision will be final. Strengthening bilateral ties The YPBD serves as the youth-centric arm of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, an Indian government initiative designed to connect the global Indian diaspora with their home country.
