Individuals can now use the ICP online portal to verify eligibility and apply for long-term residency without prior official nomination.

Eligible foreign nationals can now initiate their own UAE Golden Visa applications through a self-nomination portal managed by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP). The service allows individuals who have not been formally nominated by government entities to verify their eligibility and submit a formal request for the 10-year residency permit. Self-Nomination Process and Categories The nomination process is accessible via the ICP Smart Services portal. Applicants must select a specific category that aligns with their professional or financial status. The primary categories include real estate and public investors, entrepreneurs, scientists, healthcare professionals, and outstanding students. High-achieving university graduates are required to provide their Grade Point Average (GPA) and evidence of degree attestation from the Ministry of Education. Upon completing an initial eligibility questionnaire, users must log in via UAE Pass to populate personal data, including their Unified Number and passport details. The system requires applicants to upload supporting documentation specific to their field, such as investment certificates or professional licenses. Fees and Processing Requirements The self-nomination service carries a total fee of Dh155. According to ICP data, this includes a Dh122 authority fee and a Dh29 e-service fee.
