UAE Fuel Price Committee updates petrol and diesel rates for April

Super 98 and Special 95 see price increases while diesel costs fall for the coming month.

The UAE Fuel Price Committee has confirmed the retail prices for petrol and diesel for April 2024. The updated rates, which include 5% Value Added Tax (VAT), take effect on the first of the month across all emirates. New rates for petrol grades Super 98 petrol is priced at AED 3.15 per litre, up from AED 3.03 in March. Special 95 now costs AED 3.03 per litre, an increase from the previous rate of AED 2.92. E-Plus 91 has been adjusted to AED 2.96 per litre, rising from AED 2.85 last month. Diesel price reduction While petrol prices saw an upward adjustment, diesel rates decreased for April. The fuel is priced at AED 3.09 per litre, down from AED 3.16 in March. These monthly fluctuations are determined by the Fuel Price Committee based on the average global price of oil. The UAE deregulated fuel prices in August 2015, moving from a fixed-price system to one aligned with international market trends. Prices are reviewed and announced on the last day of each month for the upcoming period, impacting local transport costs and logistical operations.
