UAE Food Bank and Deliveroo pilot rider support hubs at major transport nodes

The RTA partnered with the UAE Food Bank and Deliveroo to support couriers at 23 transit hubs across the emirate.
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) distributed meals to delivery riders at 23 bus and metro stations across the emirate on Thursday, 20 August. The initiative was conducted in partnership with the UAE Food Bank and Deliveroo to support frontline logistics workers during the summer season. Strategic Rest Areas for Riders The distribution took place at temporary rest areas specifically designated for motorcycle couriers at key transport hubs. According to the RTA, the selected facilities were chosen based on high-traffic data to reach the maximum number of delivery personnel operating in the emirate’s busiest commercial and residential districts. The UAE Food Bank coordinated the meal logistics, while Deliveroo provided operational support for the distribution. This project is part of a broader infrastructure plan to improve safety and comfort for riders who manage the logistics of Dubai’s expanding e-commerce and food delivery sectors. Infrastructure for Delivery Sector Growth This initiative follows recent RTA efforts to formalize the delivery sector, which has seen significant volume growth in 2026. The establishment of dedicated rest zones at public transport stations is designed to reduce roadside fatigue and provide couriers with shaded environments to regroup between orders.
