UAE companies can now estimate In-Country Value scores via a new digital tool to improve their chances in government tenders.
UAE businesses bidding for government and semi-government contracts can now calculate their In-Country Value (ICV) scores ahead of formal certification following the launch of a digital estimation tool on Wednesday, 7 October. ADEPTS Chartered Accountants released the free online ICV Score Calculator to provide firms with an early-warning mechanism. The tool simulates the official methodology used by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) to measure a company’s contribution to the local economy. By identifying scoring weaknesses early, companies can adjust procurement and hiring strategies before the final audit period ends. How the ICV score is calculated The National ICV Programme weighs six primary metrics to determine a company’s score: third-party spending within the UAE, local investment, Emiratisation rates, expatriate employee costs, export volumes, and specific bonuses for technology and sustainability. According to ADEPTS, the calculator applies different weightings for manufacturers versus service providers to mirror official MoIAT standards. Aaliyan Ibrahim, founder and managing partner of ADEPTS, stated that businesses often treat ICV as a static annual certificate rather than a commercial metric that requires continuous monitoring.
