The United Arab Emirates has officially expressed its sincere condolences and profound solidarity with the government and people of the Central African Republic (CAR) following a tragic mine collapse in the country’s western region that claimed dozens of lives and left multiple workers injured. In an official communique released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) in Abu Dhabi, the UAE conveyed its heartfelt sympathy to the families of the victims and the friendly people of the Central African Republic, while wishing a rapid recovery for all those injured in the industrial disaster. The disaster occurred at an artisanal gold and mineral extraction site in the remote village of Zamboye, situated within the Nana-Mambéré prefecture near the border with Cameroon. Heavy torrential rainfall across the western highlands had destabilized the structural integrity of the soil, triggering a catastrophic subterranean mudslide and earth collapse that trapped workers beneath tons of rock, gravel, and saturated clay.
