UAE Deploys 6,000 Air-Conditioned Rest Stations for Delivery Riders Nationwide

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation rolls out cooling zones and mobile buses to protect delivery riders during the midday break period.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has announced the provision of 6,000 air-conditioned rest stations for delivery riders across the UAE this summer. The initiative, coordinated with government entities and the private sector, aims to protect workers from extreme temperatures during the peak heat months. National Coordination for Rider Safety The rollout is a result of partnerships between MoHRE, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai, the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) in Abu Dhabi, and municipal authorities nationwide. Private sector participants include major delivery platforms such as Talabat, Deliveroo, and Noon, which are contributing to the infrastructure. The stations include permanent indoor facilities, specialized mobile buses, and shaded rest areas equipped with cooling systems. Facilities and Services The designated rest zones offer air-conditioning, seating, and access to drinking water. Many stations are also equipped with mobile charging ports and basic maintenance tools for motorcycles.
