DUBAI / ABU DHABI - Demonstrating the rich social cohesion and cultural diversity that define everyday life in the United Arab Emirates, hundreds of thousands of residents and families across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and the Northern Emirates have embraced the festive holiday weekend with an array of colorful cultural gatherings, elaborate floral art installations, and traditional community feasts. The harvest and cultural festivities, widely observed by the substantial Malayali expatriate community hailing from the southern Indian state of Kerala, have expanded over decades into a cherished nationwide cultural occasion embraced by diverse expatriate communities and citizens alike.
