UAE and Caribbean Nations Discuss Trade Expansion at Regional Summit

Minister of State Reem Al Hashimy leads delegation to Suriname to strengthen investment ties and climate cooperation.

The UAE has concluded high-level participation in the 29th Ordinary Meeting of the Ministerial Council of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) in Paramaribo, Suriname, as part of a strategic push to expand trade and investment in the region. Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, led the UAE delegation to discuss economic integration and logistics cooperation with Caribbean leaders. Non-Oil Trade and Economic Growth Non-oil trade between the UAE and Caribbean nations reached $574.5 million in 2023, reflecting a growing appetite for cross-border investment. During the summit, the UAE delegation emphasized the potential for increased cooperation in sectors including renewable energy, food security, and infrastructure.
