Speaking to reporters while departing Washington for a campaign rally in San Antonio, Trump asserted that US intervention has already neutralised Iran's nuclear capabilities. Energy Markets and Nuclear Demands The US President claimed that the resolution of the conflict would cause oil prices to "come tumbling down," linking the military outcome directly to global market stability. These remarks come as the Trump administration maintains a hardline stance on Tehran’s nuclear enrichment activities. US Vice President JD Vance told Reuters that Washington requires a "meaningful" reduction in Iran's nuclear enrichment capacity before any ceasefire can be reached in the seven-month war.
