TRENDS Global and ORFME will meet in Dubai on 20 August to develop post-conflict economic models for the Global South and MENA region.
TRENDS Global and the Observer Research Foundation Middle East (ORFME) will convene their second economic dialogue on Thursday, 20th August, to address regional economic stability following recent geopolitical tensions. The event, titled 'Balancing Connectivity and Economic Security: Post-Conflict Strategies for the Global South and the MENA Region', will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Focus on Food and Financial Sovereignty The dialogue follows the conclusion of the US-Israeli-Iranian conflict, focusing on creating economic models that reconcile global market integration with national security protections. Awadh Al Breiki, Director-General of TRENDS Global, stated that the sessions will prioritize food and water security alongside financial sovereignty for nations within the Middle East, North Africa (MENA), and the Global South. Technical discussions will center on the localization of strategic industries and the diversification of supply chains. Participants will review strategies to build resilient monetary systems and expand economic zones to attract foreign direct investment. The agenda also includes the establishment of trade and logistics interdependencies designed to withstand future regional shocks.
