Sri Lanka has officially introduced free tourist visas for citizens of Oman, effective immediately, as part of a strategic push to increase international visitor numbers. The decision removes the previously mandatory visa fees for Omani nationals entering the island nation for tourism purposes. Waiver for 30-Day Tourist Entries The visa fee exemption applies to 30-day tourist visas, simplifying the entry process for travelers from the Sultanate. Under the new regulations, Omani citizens are no longer required to pay the standard processing fees for the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system. This move is intended to position Sri Lanka as a more accessible destination for GCC-based travelers during peak holiday seasons. Oman is among a select group of 35 countries included in this expanded pilot program. The list also includes major markets such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Bahrain, alongside several European and Asian nations.
