Spain national team head coach Luis Enrique has made historical precedent by excluding all Real Madrid players from the national squad for a major international tournament. The decision marks the first time in the history of the Spanish national team that the capital’s most successful club will have no representation in a championship roster. Ramos Omitted from Final Selection The most notable absence from the 24-man squad is captain Sergio Ramos, who has earned 180 caps for his country. Ramos, 35, struggled with persistent muscle injuries and knee issues throughout the domestic season, limiting him to only 15 appearances for Real Madrid. Luis Enrique confirmed that the decision was based on the defender's lack of competitive fitness since January. Other potential Real Madrid candidates, including defender Nacho Fernandez and right-back Dani Carvajal, also missed out.
