Six UAE charities fund mobile rehab hub for Gaza conflict amputees

The UAE Floating Hospital in Al Arish, Egypt, has completed the fitting of prosthetic limbs for 64 Palestinian patients as part of the "Step of Hope" rehabilitation initiative. The programme, operating under the Gallant Knight 3 humanitarian operation, provides integrated medical services to amputees injured during the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Integrated Rehabilitation Process The medical team at the facility manages a comprehensive recovery cycle that includes clinical assessments, the custom manufacture of prosthetic devices, and physical therapy sessions. According to hospital officials on Tuesday, 25 August, the programme is designed to assist beneficiaries in regaining mobility and adapting to their new limbs for daily life activities. Each patient receives a tailored treatment plan based on their specific physical condition. Beyond the initial fitting, the specialised medical teams provide ongoing follow-up and physical rehabilitation sessions to ensure long-term recovery and societal reintegration for the 64 individuals currently enrolled. Coordinated Humanitarian Funding The Step of Hope programme is financed and supported by six UAE-based humanitarian organisations.
