The Chinese metropolis of Shenzhen has surpassed Dubai and New York to claim the top spot for skyscraper density and architectural volume.

Shenzhen, China, has officially claimed the title of the world’s best skyline, overtaking Dubai and New York in latest skyscraper density rankings. Data from the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) confirms the southern Chinese city now hosts the highest concentration of high-rise structures globally. Density and Height Metrics Shenzhen currently features over 120 buildings taller than 200 meters, a figure that exceeds both New York City and Dubai. While New York defined the skyscraper era in the 20th century, the rapid industrialization of the Pearl River Delta has shifted the architectural balance toward China over the last decade. Despite the shift in overall density rankings, Dubai remains the global leader in the "supertall" category. The UAE city retains the highest number of buildings exceeding 300 meters, including the 828-meter Burj Khalifa.
