Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council, has issued Executive Council Resolution No. (104) of 2024. The new legislation regulates the use of cameras by judicial officers to document violations and execution procedures across the emirate. Strict Protocols for Judicial Documentation The resolution applies to all government entities in Dubai whose employees hold the capacity of judicial officers. It mandates that cameras may only be used for official documentation purposes related to identifying legal violations and executing judicial orders. The law strictly prohibits the use of cameras or recording equipment without prior authorization from the relevant government department. Under the new rules, the transfer, storage, or publication of any captured footage is forbidden unless processed through official channels. Unauthorized access to recordings or the extraction of data for personal or public distribution will be subject to legal penalties.
