Dubai to host sixth round of Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship

Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex will host the final No-Gi round of the season on August 29-30 as Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club defends its lead.

Dubai will host the sixth round of the Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship at the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex on Saturday, 29 August and Sunday, 30 August. The event serves as the final No-Gi round of the season, determining the definitive standings for clubs and academies in this discipline. Two-day competition schedule The UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation confirmed the two-day schedule on Tuesday, 25 August. On Saturday, 29 August, the mat will feature younger competitors in the Under-12, Under-14, and Under-16 categories. The competition concludes on Sunday, 30 August, with matches for the Under-18, Adult, and Masters divisions. The No-Gi format requires athletes to compete without the traditional uniform, placing a higher tactical emphasis on speed, transitions, and physical control. Yousef Abdullah Al Batran, Board Member of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation, stated that the results from this round will have a decisive impact on the overall season standings. Club rankings and title race Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club enters the Dubai round as the current leader, following their performance in the previous No-Gi event held in Fujairah in April. They are currently challenged by Palms Sports – Team 777 and M.O.D Academy, both of which are within scoring distance of the top spot.
