The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has officially launched a smart public transportation infrastructure initiative, deploying solar-powered digital information screens that provide passengers with real-time bus arrival tracking across the emirate. Designed to eliminate commuter uncertainty, reduce physical waiting times, and elevate urban mass transit standards, the digital display rollout represents a strategic step forward in Sharjah’s ongoing digital transformation agenda. Under the new deployment, digital screens installed at key transit hubs and municipal bus shelters display dynamic arrival countdowns in minutes for all approaching bus lines. Utilizing advanced GPS tracking modules embedded across SRTA’s public bus fleet, the centralized transit management system processes continuous vehicle telemetry, calculating exact arrival times based on prevailing traffic flow, signal timing, and passenger boarding patterns.
