Sanad plans 1,000 new technical jobs for Al Ain engine centre expansion

Abu Dhabi-based aerospace firm Sanad will require more than 1,000 technicians for its new Pratt & Whitney GTF engine maintenance centre in Al Ain once it reaches full operational capacity, the company’s Chief Financial Officer confirmed on Monday, 28 September. The hiring surge is part of a broader infrastructure expansion designed to address a global shortage of aviation technical talent. Kashish Kohli, Group CFO and SVP of Asset Management at Sanad, stated that the company intends to develop a significant portion of this workforce within the UAE through partnerships with universities and dedicated on-the-job training programmes. Massive Infrastructure Expansion in Al Ain Sanad is currently developing two major facilities in Al Ain to meet soaring global demand for engine maintenance. The GTF Engine MRO Centre, spanning 64,000 square metres, is scheduled to begin engine inductions in 2028 and is projected to become the world’s second-largest facility for this engine type. Additionally, a Dh480 million Repair Centre of Excellence is slated to begin operations by 2030. This 17,600-square-metre facility will support 350 jobs and process up to 65,000 repaired parts annually. The expansion follows a strong performance in the first half of 2026, where Sanad reported a 35% year-on-year revenue increase to Dh4.31 billion.
