Philippine Embassy, Consulate announce June 2024 holiday closures

Diplomatic services in Abu Dhabi and Dubai will be suspended for Philippine Independence Day and Eid Al Adha.

The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai have confirmed they will suspend all consular services for several days in June 2024. The closures are scheduled to observe the 126th Philippine Independence Day and the Islamic holiday of Eid Al Adha. Independence Day schedule On Wednesday, June 12, both diplomatic missions will be closed to the public. This national holiday commemorates the declaration of Philippine independence in 1898. Regular operations are scheduled to resume on Thursday, June 13. The closure affects all attached agencies, including the Migrant Workers Office (MWO), the Social Security System (SSS), and the Pag-IBIG Fund representative offices located within the embassy and consulate premises. Eid Al Adha observances In coordination with the UAE public sector holiday calendar, the missions will also close from Monday, June 17, to Tuesday, June 18, for Eid Al Adha. While these dates depend on the official moon sighting in the UAE, the diplomatic offices have aligned their operational pause with the declared public sector break.
