Philippine authorities arrested a 31-year-old woman at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 as she attempted to board a flight to Dubai. The Bureau of Immigration (BI) confirmed the passenger was apprehended after a primary inspection revealed outstanding warrants for her arrest. Warrants Issued in Multiple Provinces The traveler, identified as a Filipina national, is facing charges of illegal recruitment and multiple counts of estafa, a legal term for fraud or swindling under Philippine law. Immigration officers flagged her name during a routine database check, which showed a match in the bureau’s centralized warrant system. According to BI records, the warrants were issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 64 in Tarlac and the Municipal Trial Court in Cities in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur. The charges include "estafa in relation to Section 6 of Republic Act 8042," which covers the Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos Act.
