NYU Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) graduated its largest-ever class during its 11th commencement ceremony this week, marking the university’s highest student output since its founding. The Class of 2024 comprises approximately 540 students representing more than 80 countries, reflecting the institution's continued expansion within the UAE capital. Scale of the 2024 Cohort The graduating class is the largest in the university's 14-year history. Students received degrees across multiple disciplines, including the arts, humanities, social sciences, science, and engineering. This year's ceremony follows a decade of steady growth for the Saadiyat Island campus, which held its inaugural graduation in 2014 with a cohort of 140 students. The ceremony was attended by senior university officials, including NYU President Linda G. Mills and NYUAD Vice Chancellor Mariët Westermann. The event served as a final milestone for the current administration, with Westermann scheduled to transition to a new role as director and CEO of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and Foundation.
