The UAE Ministry of Economy's new Green Licence offers sustainability startups a Dh400,000 support package including subsidized fees and financing.

The UAE Ministry of Economy has launched the country’s first "Green Licence," a dedicated regulatory framework offering a support package valued at more than Dh400,000 for sustainability-focused startups and small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs). The initiative provides eligible firms with significant reductions in setup costs, specialized banking services, and direct access to federal funding channels. Strategic Partnerships and Financial Incentives Developed in collaboration with Wio Bank, the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, and the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), the Green Licence aims to lower the barrier to entry for businesses operating in the circular economy. The Dh400,000 incentive bundle includes subsidized licensing fees, discounted office space, and competitive digital banking rates through Wio Bank’s business platform. The Khalifa Fund will provide qualifying entities with priority access to financing and mentorship programs.
