Lebanon Culture Minister Ghassan Salamé to headline Arab Media Summit 2026

Lebanon’s Minister of Culture, Dr. Ghassan Salamé, will deliver the keynote address at the Arab Media Summit 2026 in Dubai on Wednesday, 16 September, the organising committee announced. The summit, scheduled from 15 to 17 September, will gather more than 10,000 media professionals and industry stakeholders from across the UAE and the Arab world. The event is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. According to the Dubai Media Council, the 2026 edition will host 200 prominent media figures from outside the UAE, alongside editors-in-chief, content creators, and media technology experts. High-Profile Diplomatic Participation Dr. Salamé enters the summit with a career spanning international diplomacy and academia. He previously served as the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Libya from 2017 to 2020 and acted as a senior adviser to former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan. He was also the founding dean of the Paris School of International Affairs at Sciences Po. Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, stated that Dr. Salamé’s participation provides a vision shaped by decades of experience during pivotal historical moments in the Arab region.
