Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has confirmed that all private schools, universities, and nurseries in the emirate will be closed on Sunday, July 7, to observe the Hijri New Year. The announcement formalizes the holiday for the 1446 AH Islamic year across the private education sector. Academic Calendar Impact The one-day closure applies to all educational institutions regulated by the KHDA. Since Sunday is already a standard weekend for most schools and universities in Dubai, the announcement ensures administrative and academic alignment with the federal holiday. Regular operations and classes are scheduled to resume on Monday, July 8.
