Jordanian industrial exports to the UAE surged 29% during the first half of 2026, reaching an increase of JD45 million compared to the same period last year. The growth highlights a strengthening trade corridor between the two nations as Jordan expands its manufacturing footprint across global markets. Data released by the Jordan Chamber of Industry (JCI) on Saturday, 29 August, confirmed that total industrial exports from the kingdom rose 8.9% to reach JD4.4 billion in the first six months of the year. While the UAE remains a primary regional partner, the JCI report identified sharp increases in exports to Switzerland (204%), China (70%), the European Union (37%), and Iraq (16%). Chemicals and Construction Lead Sector Growth The chemical industries and cosmetics sector emerged as a dominant driver of this growth, with exports valued at JD1.042 billion, representing an 11.4% year-on-year increase. The construction industry recorded the highest percentage growth at 82.1%, followed by gains in the mining, engineering, information technology, and food sectors. Despite the rise in heavy industry and chemicals, garments and leather products remained the top-selling category by volume, valued at JD806 million. Fertilisers and jewellery also maintained high positions on the kingdom\'s export list, according to the JCI statistical breakdown.
